Period Furniture Group—Queen Anne Side Chair

Date is Dec 7 and will be at Steve Belair's shop in Auburn NH 124 Pond View Auburn NH.

Meeting begins at 9 AM and concludes at noon.

PFG will be continuing a Queen Anne side chair project. This is a Boston-style Queen Anne side chair, circa 1730-50, based on examples at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Yale University Art Gallery and Winterthur Museum. Our lead builders are beginning the final parts of the chair.

This  meeting will address the seat stretchers. Ron Bart and Stephen Conlin will be demonstrating the  process and tenon creation on the seat stretchers. Additionally there is a large mortise for the seat that has to be vacated and this will be demonstrated.
